Blog 6: The Design Lead Come'th


Salutations everyone!

I’m Brendan the Design lead and I’m here to talk about what my role is, the latest changes to the game and any new inclusions to it. First off as the Design lead I’m in charge of making sure the game remains solid and doesn’t go off in random directions that have no connection to the core aspects of the game. Keeping our games wiki up to date and replacing the previous parts such as pictures and drawings of the game with newer ones.

This recent sprint has seen the game the inclusion of a number of different elements to the game. Firstly, we now have a dialogue system that activates between the player and the customers to add some more depth to the game and to inform the players of the order the customer wants.

 The dialogue system will also undergo some visual changes later on to connect with the games aesthetics properly and will have minor changes along the way as our game grows. Speaking of growing we now have a growth system for our resource management allowing the players to grow some raw ingredients from seedling to a fully grown plant.

 Lastly, we have had a number of game breaking glitches and bugs delt with to ensure that players get the true full experience of the game and not a large mess of bad gameplay. Some fixes have also changed the way the game plays such as the reduction of active customers going from three or more to a singular customer. Additionally, our tech lead Adam has gotten the highlighting system for our sprites to work allowing us to remove some of the more visually confusing elements for a more visually appealing system.
